Music for a Great Cause in Norfolk County

Posted On:06.21.2015
There is some great people, doing some great things right now.

My new record is in the early works and there should be some good tunes on this record – stay tuned for more information in later blogs.

In other news, I’ll be making a rare out of town, yes outside of Hamilton appearance. Next weekend (June 28), I will be heading to Turkey Point, ON to perform at the RE7 North Shore Challenge. Now you are probably wondering what that’s all about?

I’m sure many of you by now have heard of Annaleise Carr. If you haven’t, she became the youngest person to swim across Lake Ontario in 2012 at the age of 14. Annaleise then proceeded to swim Lake Erie not once but twice in 2014 at 16. But she didn’t do any of this for herself – she did it all for the kids at Camp Trillium. Camp Trillium is a privately funded (zero money comes from the government) camp for kids who are facing the challenges of having cancer and there families. To date she’s raised close to or exceed $500,000. A very large accomplishment for someone who is only 17.

This year, Annaleise and her crew have organized the first ever Global Swim Series to come to Lake Erie – with proceeds going to Camp Trillium again. It’s my honour to be asked to come play a show during this ground breaking event.

If you are in the area, stop in, check out some tunes and grab some lunch. If you want to make a donation to what Annaleise is doing for the kids at Camp Trillium, check out her website for more information: http://annaleisecarr.com/

Annaleise, I wish you luck with this swim series and your future endeavours. Thank you for letting me a part of this and I’m looking forward to finally meeting you.
